2/09/2008 | THE Walk for Watoto funding project that saw 60 people register for a walk to Copeton dam has raised $13,500. “This is an awesome amount that will go towards the construction of a house that will accommodate eight orphan children and a mother to help bring them up in a lifestyle that was robbed from them at birth, a life that will give them food, clothing,dignity, schooling and medical attention,” said organiser, Kristine Roberts.
2/09/2008 | INVERELL detectives arrested a 17-year-old Armidale teenager on Sunday after a violent home invasion late last week. The teenager allegedly forced entry into a home in Roslyn Avenue at Armidale and was found at a residence in Old Bundarra Rd about 11am.

The 1908 Roby three-speed that once sat as “junk” on a family’s land, came to life with a gush of steam and a loud toot, after a massive restoration program returned the machine to a pristine condition and full working order.

29/08/2008 | WHEN Des Clark became a mechanic’s apprentice in 1956 ABS, GPS, ESC and a whole lot of other acronyms were in the distant future. In the past 52 years a lot has certainly changed, but one thing that has remained constant is Des’ love for mechanics and his commitment to the community he lives in.
