Husband to fight murder charge

2/05/2008 9:11:42 AM
A FORMER Inverell man accused of murdering his wife in a car crash, plans to fight the charges.

Clayton John Iskov, 36, is charged with the murder of wife Kylie Petrina Iskov, 33, last August.

Mrs Iskov died in a car accident at Mooball on August 6, 2007, after a white Holden Commodore driven by her husband collided with a tree on the side of Tweed Valley Way.

Iskov’s lawyer Russell Baxter told the court his client intended to plead not guilty to the police charges, which include murder, negligent driving occasioning death and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm

The court heard police, believing Iskov was going overseas, had arrested him at his South Tweed Heads home last Thursday.

A formal brief was ordered by Magistrate Jeff Linden to be submitted by June 13.

Meanwhile, Mr Baxter was given permission to gain informal access to photos from the police investigation.

The matter was adjourned to Lismore Local Court on May 6, for mention, with Iskov scheduled to appear via video link.
