AFTER a game the Saints would rather forget they will be very keen to bounce back against the New England Nomads when they face them at Varley Oval this week.
Saints coach Dick Gleeson said there will be no time for excuses this week as the Saints hope to keep their finals campaign alive and kicking (goals that is).
“We are still having trouble with injuries and sickness in the team and whoever is fit enough to play will be playing.
“There is no time for excuses now, we have just got to get on the paddock and play the best footy we can, if we are switched on and focussed we can beat the Nomads but we are not going into this game over confident.”
The Saints will be missing key players Stewart Walker and Bruce Wall this weekend in addition to other players whose game fitness is still not known.
Gleeson said the team was working well at training despite the missing players.
“We went over last weeks game at training and the boys realise we have just got to get back to playing as a team and manning up.
“The Nomads are a fit young team and their game plan is going to be to run all game, but we can still beat them if we play at strength.
“We won’t know for sure who will be running on until the game on Saturday, and we don’t know who will win.
“There will be no excuses, wether we win or lose that is just the way the cookie crumbles.”
The game starts at 2pm at Varley Oval.
“We want to see a lot of supporters out there cheering us on Saturday.”
